Coffee with Spurgeon and Wesley
[QUICK REVIEW: Charles Haddon Spurgeon is a hero of mine from another tradition and era.
Among the gems he left us is this —
“When asked, ‘What is more important: praying or reading the Bible?’, I ask, ‘What is more important: breathing in or breathing out?'”
— KaBOOM.]
That’s not unlike how John Wesley might answer when asked if personal holiness or mission work was more important.]
If I were to sit down to coffee with either of those two, I’d have to be keep quiet.
I’m embarrassed to admit how much time I’ve spent arguing over things of little consequence and how little time I’ve spent doing things that matter.
How about you?
