When Our Dissatisfaction Encounters Christ Jesus, part 3
“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they find rest in you.”
St. Augustine wrote that.
It used to be in our hymnals. I stumbled across it in the back section of the book as a bored kid flipping through that book to have something to do. No idea where or when that was, but that sentence was at the top of the page on the right hand side.
It’s an image that caught my attention way back then, and its reality has only become clearer since then.
Right now, join me in St. Augustine’s famous line, and let’s admit its truth as we pray together: “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they find rest in you.”
Somebody say Amen.
