They-Us-You-Me-We

He goes on —
“They don’t help kids.
They don’t fight injustice or racism.
They don’t feed hungry people
or help stop human trafficking.
YOU do. WE do.”
—- In what some call The Real Lord’s Prayer in John 17 (not to be confused with The Disciples’ Prayer in Matthew 6 and Luke 11), Christ Jesus said,
Holy Father, guard them as they pursue this life
That you conferred as a gift through me,
So they can be one heart and mind
As we are one heart and mind.
— We are they.
We are us.
We are Christ’s.
Are we living towards the one-ness for which he prayed or not?
What’s one thing you and I can do today to take one step in that direction?
