BONUS BLOG: I Am Doing a New Thing
“Dwelling on the past can overwhelm our hearts with grief.
“Our desire to know what has been and why can consume us.”
— That’s from my same source as yesterday’s Bonus Blog.
I know that “dwelling on the past” and a strong “desire to know what has been and why” can become unhealthy. Been there. Done that.
Don’t need a t-shirt or a tattoo to remind me.
Especially in the welcoming light of Isaiah 43:19 —
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
— Let’s couple that promise with the prayer we thought about together in my Brief-Video-Devotion-for-a-Wednesday-in-Lent two days ago. It’s the second part of Psalm 51:10, as found in the Gene Peterson “Message” version of the Bible:
Shape a Genesis week
from the chaos of my life.
I’m looking forward to what’s going to happen when we’re praying and living with that image from Psalm 51:10′s second line and hear and see and experience God responding with the promise of Isaiah 43:19.
Us: Shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life
God: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Please let me hear from you, any of the usual ways, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.
