Wading into the Uncharted Territory of C-19

March 14, 2020

Sean Parsons, friend IRL with whom it was my honor to serve on a church staff as he finished up his Ph.D, wrote this yesterday and has graciously given me his permission to share it with you here —-

I don’t think people are yet accepting the enormity of what is going on. The level to which lives will be disrupted for a significantly long period of time is unlike anything most of us have ever experienced.

This just isn’t about how we might teach students online or where we can get toilet paper. This is about reassessing the fundamental ways in which we live.

We’re mostly not ready – mentally or physically.

What comforts me right now is that we’re all in this together. It’s going to require a future of forgiveness and accepting that the ways we’ve always done things have not really been the best ways. Lots of gut checks coming in the next 8 months.
