All the Colors
Yesterday several asked about Gerhard Richter.
He’s fascinated me with his work since I first stumbled upon his stuff in the St. Louis Art Museum in the late 80’s or early 90’s.
I have several favorite “Gerhard Stories” but topping the list is his response to people telling him how brilliant his use of greys was in his earlier works. He laughs and points out that he was then in East Germany where that was the primary color; they just didn’t have much else to work with.
Look around you right now.
See the colors?
Be thankful!
Join me in a prayer I’ve seen and said for years: “Thank you, God, for letting me see all the colors.”
Amen.
