Truth by the Spoonful
Where we stopped here yesterday —
Maybe I need to let Gene Peterson’s version of Job 42:3 be my Prayer of Confession: I babbled on about things far beyond me, made small talk about wonders way over my head.
Anybody else need to join me in that admission?
— Anybody else guilty of having babbled on when we should have been listening and learning something? Or simply when silence itself was needed?
Anybody else made small talk about things of great consequence? Because of arrogance? Ignorance? Or fear?
Anybody else need about five spoonfuls of Ecclesiastes 5:2? It says, Do not be quick with your words, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
God, help. Amen.
