A Fifth of Freedom
WARNING: Today’s edition of “Fresh-Brewed Daily” comes with Homework.
Christ has freed us
so that we may enjoy
the benefits of freedom.
— Galatians 5:1, The Names of God Bible
As I said here yesterday, I’m not making up the title of this translation; it’s genuine.
And yesterday I pointed out that Christ Jesus offers us a freedom that is to be enjoyed. That’s the first thing we sometimes overlook.
The second startling element in this verse is its emphasis on the benefits of freedom.
So today I invite you to join me in a fifth.
By which I mean the fifth chapter of Galatians.
Here comes the Homework I warned you about a moment ago —
1. Grab your Bible or search online
for Galatians 5
and read the rest of what it says
about our freedom in Christ,
and as you read through this chapter,
2. Notice the benefits of freedom in Christ.
— You’re in for a treat!
See you back here tomorrow. Meanwhile, are you going to search online for Galatians 5 or are you getting your Bible and turning to it?
