Joseph’s New Church Job Title
Joseph, our son, recently said that he now has a job title at his church. (I share all this with his gracious expressed permission; or as he said, “I approve that message.”)
Backstory: He’s in a supervised independent living apartment, works at a downtown YMCA, and is in involved in both job training and life skills classes.
His Church: For over a decade Joseph’s been involved in an open, warm, welcoming congregation. Yes, it’s a United Methodist Church. And yes, they’ve survived several pastoral changes over those years, with clergy of various ages and stages of life.
His New Title: It’s that community of faith that has given him special recognition as their Resident Acolyte.
