Be This Way Today
This day belongs to the Lord!
Let’s celebrate and be glad today.
— Psalm 118:24, Contemporary English Version
“How does that make you feel?”
That’s a question we got asked a lot, and I mean a LOT, when I was in a couple of courses in seminary. (One was called Clinical Pastoral Education; ask me about it sometime…it shaped me in ways I’m still discovering and enjoying.)
There was an understanding then that many of us cover up our feelings, if we’re even aware of them in the first place.
Let’s celebrate and be glad today is a decidedly pointed call to action.
Murky waters here for many of us: do our feelings control us, or do we control our feelings? Or is there some symbiotic combination at work within us?
Two days ago we listed ten reasons to be celebratory.
What are some ways you can be glad today?
After all, seems to be God’s idea: Let’s celebrate and be glad today is from Psalm 118, not my prescription pad.
Lemme ask you: “How does that make you feel?”
