So, Whose is It?

You and I might have learned this a little differently.

This day belongs to the LORD! says Psalm 118:24 in the Contemporary English Version.

That’s slightly different from This is the day the Lord has made, as many other translations have rendered it. And as we might have memorized it. Maybe you even know a tune that goes with those words; so do I.

This day belongs to the Lord! contains a subtle reminder that you and I are stewards, managers, care-takers, and so much more, of something that’s not even ours.

This day is something with which we’ve been entrusted.

Whoa.
