For Tuners
Today I’m thankful for tuners.
Guitar tuners clip onto the headstock of the instrument and tell the user visually if the string just played is too low, too high, or right on pitch. Some now can display information about all six strings at once.
Tuners speed up the tuning process to help the player get on with making music.
If only we had something like that for our souls…oh wait, there’s this, tucked into a song from 1757: Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace.
Funny thing about guitar tuners is that they don’t do much good sitting in the case. They also don’t work well even when attached to a guitar being played if they’re ignored.
Hmmm…I can connect those dots painfully easily, and so can you.
Today I’m thankful for both guitar tuners and the Fount of every blessing who tunes our hearts.
