Walking with Jesus, part 5

Walk with me, Jesus says in Matthew 11:29.

“The closer I walk with Jesus,” is how an elderly saint I served as pastor began.

She’d been around the track.

Several times.

She’d even been around some tracks I’d never heard of. There were a few she had logged laps on that I hoped I never saw in person, and sure didn’t wanna get onto.

She said, “The closer I walk with Jesus, there’s that much less room between him and me for something else.”

You probably know the old song she played that afternoon —

I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
