Do You Want To?

September 27, 2017

“Get up,” he said, “take up your bed, and walk.”

He wasn’t talking to someone hitting the snooze button on a chilly morning. He said that to someone paralyzed.

Jesus said that in John 5:8.

The very next verse reads, At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. I’m glad he didn’t stop at the semi-colon when he was cured, but went ahead and did what Christ Jesus told him to do.

Maybe you and I have stopped at that semicolon.

Maybe more than once.

We’ve heard the healing invitation of a command from Christ and enjoyed what Christ offered us, but then we didn’t do what he said.

What’s been holding you back?

“Do you want that to change?” Jesus asked that in John 5:6.

Still does.

So: “Do you want that to change?”

  1. I do. I need removal of the extra thorns. I could work through the first, then the second, but the last three have left me unable to continue all that he has directed, all that I used to be able to do, and all that I had promised.
