The Service Industry We’re In

June 22, 2017

“Serve the Lord,” says Psalm 100:2.

Yeah.

Well.

I’ve done that.

So have you.

We’ve served.

We’re tired.

Isn’t it somebody else’s turn by now?

“Serve the Lord” isn’t the end of that verse.

It goes on, “Serve the Lord with gladness.”

Again, same as yesterday, uhm, oops.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord,” says Colossians 3:23.

Fold Psalm 100:2 and Colossians 3:23 together, and yikes: no matter what our tasks are, we’re in God’s service industry.

You’ll excuse me, I gotta get going on that.

You, too?

See you back here tomorrow.

I was surprised and pleased when t texted someone yesterday to see if I could help with an event that was happening at our church this Sunday and was told they already had lots of helpers!
