Countdown to Christmas — 12.23.16
[This is number five of a series on Stephanie Paulsell’s recent article. If you haven’t had the chance to read the first four parts, scroll down and treat yourself. She’s good!]
“The baby for whom we wait this Advent bears his good news into the world even before he can speak,” writes our by-now-friend Stephanie.
But that sentence confuses us. Read it again with me: “The baby for whom we wait this Advent bears his good news into the world even before he can speak.”
Huh?
She clarifies, “We hear it in the lengths his parents went to protect him, the miles the Magi traveled to honor him, the awe of the shepherds who heard his birth announced by an angel, the assurance of the angel that this was good news for all people.”
Of those four — protect, honor, be in awe, and enjoy the assurance — which one resonates most with you as get ready to knock on Christmas’ door? That is, which one expresses your relationship with Christ Jesus as we roll from Advent into Christmas?
Love hearing from you.
See you here tomorrow.
Every time, I revel in the awe!
