Once Upon a Happily Ever After
Jenny Burton did our Children’s Sermon this past Sunday.
(Have I mentioned that we’ve gone from like 4 of us doing those to twelve people, women and men both —12— on a rotating basis?)
She asked about favorite stories. She pointed out that many begin with “Once upon a time” and end with “happily ever after.”
That’s how the stories of our own lives in Christ Jesus start also, Jenny said: at a definite point in time, or, well, “once upon a time.”
And she promised us that by the grace of God and our faith in Christ, our own stories will end with us living “happily ever after.”
Where and when was the “once upon a time” in your faith story?
And aren’t you glad that what St. Paul described as “the crown of righteousness” (2nd Timothy 4:8) is in store for you?
And that what our songs call “unending joy” is your ultimate future?
Thank you, Jenny, and thank you, Jesus!
