Big Breath

October 12, 2016

A couple of days ago here, I mentioned a typographical error, saying that it contained truth.

“Ready? Set? Big breath. Let’s go,” is how I ended that blog.

I’ve been asked several times about the “big breath” part, and am happy to explain.

In both the Old and New Testaments, in their original languages of Hebrew and Greek, the words for “breath” and “wind” and “spirit” are all three the same.

The Spirit is as near and as all-encompassing as the air.

Pretty cool, huh?

So my invitation, or maybe it was my call to get off the Starting Line and into the Race of The Day, was a reminder that you and I need a big infilling of God’s own Holy Spirit to get going.

And again today I have those same words for both of us, you and me together, “Ready? Set? Big breath. Let’s go,”
