“Lifestyle as Worship”

June 2, 2016

“Lifestyle as worship” is a phrase I picked up from a colleague and friend in a clergy support group from days gone by. Several of you asked me about it after I mentioned it at the end of yesterday’s blog in this space.

“Lifestyle as worship” blows the doors of the church off their hinges.

“Lifestyle as worship” turns the Benediction into an Invitation to Christian Discipleship.

“Lifestyle as worship” looks different for each of us.

But “lifestyle as worship” had better be more than three words.

What does “lifestyle as worship” mean for you today?

  1. I would hope that it is my everyday life. (Some days more intentional than others!). Often it is the least intentional days, when tragedy (e.g. crisis of faith, loss, doubt, etc.) strikes, I find it has become involuntarily there to land on. I am not sure when I began the “lifestyle as worship” but I am thrilled to know that when I did, repetition brought the rote practice. Singing the Doxology in my in my head has helped the past several days! Thankfully it replaced the loop of a song from a musical that kept playing and frustrated I couldn’t remember the rest of the song it just continued going round and round. Now it is busted!!! It is nice to have something like that as a part of worship in my head!
