And I Care About My Friends

March 22, 2014

Melissa Riggio is a high school senior with Down syndrome.

She writes about what that’s like in a piece titled I Have Down Syndrome — Know Me Before You Judge Me.

Melissa describes herself in part by saying, ” I’m a hard worker, a good person, and I care about my friends.”

You and I could take a lesson from her.

I highly recommend you click this link  http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/stories/peopleplaces/downsyndrome/ and meet her.

She speaks for many when she says, “I can’t change that I have Down syndrome, but one thing I would change is how people think of me.”

Let’s start.
