He Got on That Team
It happened two days ago.
He had just won the game.
Auburn had just beaten Alabama, the top-ranked football team.
Chris Davis had just returned an Alabama missed field goal attempt, running 108 yards for a touchdown with zero seconds on the game clock.
“The ball is in air, coming toward you,” an interviewer began. “What’s on your mind?”
Davis grinned, “Catch it and run!”
Almost one year ago today, on December 4th of 2012, he had tweeted this: “I need to get on the kick and punt return team this year.”
That’s sure what he did, and it made all the difference.
