“Happy New Year’s Eve AND”

December 31, 2012

My dad called New Year’s Eve “Amateur Night.”

When I was very young, I nodded along as if I understood.

A bit older and realizing that I didn’t understand, I asked him what he meant.  He said “Amateur Night” is a fairly common term for a time when all those who seldom-to-never drink suddenly think they can so they go ahead and prove they really can’t.

My hope and prayer for you today and tonight is that you have Happy New Year’s Eve AND a Safe New Year’s Eve.

Let’s see each other back here tomorrow, eh?

It’s a good night to stay in with family. Looks like we’re getting a little snow as well. Blessings to you, as this year ends, and the new one begins!
