At the End of a “dCOM” Day

February 18, 2012

I am worn out.

Been listening and talking all day.

It was my honor to spend the day interviewing and evaluating pastors with our District Committee on Ministry.

It got pretty intense.  I loved every minute of it.

We have good people doing great things.  I just met a bunch of ’em.

Good section in The New Testament’s Ephesians 4 about different kinds of gifts.   Usually we point people there to remind them that as non-ordained people in the pew, they still have gifts for ministry.  I believe that.

And today I saw the embodiment  of some of the gifts pastors have, offer, and simply are.

Hugged your pastor lately?  Okay, that might terrify some of my colleagues.  But at the very least, thank her or him this weekend simply for being your pastor.

They love our Lord, and they love you.

I know.  Because I do, too.
